This is one of my oldest writing pieces, from fourth grade, so please do not mind some of the elaboration. It is a great way to get this started.
Me and my dog, Midnight, are walking home from school. He comes to me with his ball. Since he loves to chase the ball, I gave it a big toss. Midnight chases after it.
Surprisingly, the ball bounces through the open gate and up the steps of a scary-looking house. Suddenly, the ball bounces against the door, and the door opens. Midnight chases the ball inside the haunted house. I then...chased her inside. As soon as I caught up with her, she immediately ran, and when I tried to run out, the doors closed with a great, big "Bang". "Great, now I am all alone in this spooky house with no company," I thought. Suddenly, I heard a creaking sound, and then I heard the piano. I sprinted across the room towards the noise. To my shock, Frankenstein was playing the piano song Fur Elise. My head was spinning, and I was also wondering what other spooky things were inside this house. I was still loving the music but also wondering if Frankenstein would get up and start to chase me, but(also to my great relief) it didn't chase me. Slowly, I walked through the creepy house.
"Creak" creaked the floorboard as I walked over it. Gradually, that walk turned into a jog and then into a sprint. This was because, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a giant, black, and red spider approaching me. I remembered that today in school, we learned about this spider. It was the Black Widow spider, one of the most dangerous spiders ever. I ran and I ran, but the spider always somehow found me. Finally, after an hour, it got tired and I made my great escape. I walked and walked and eventually got into a narrow hallway. I noticed that it kind of looked like the room in "Doors" where Rush would come out, so I got into a closet, and I even heard the monster. I knew that the monster Rush would come more than once, so I stayed inside the closet. An hour later, something heavy creaked a floorboard. I was so happy, but then I ran into the Black Widow again, which ruined the calm and peaceful hour. So I ran and I ran, but then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the exit to this horror movie house. I started to relax, but I was still sprinting the wrong way. So I changed direction and faced the Black Widow spider and ducked under an opening between its 8 huge legs. Then I sprinted like I had never sprinted before, ran 10000 mph, and got to that door in under 1 millisecond. But to my surprise, I was not out in the real world. I was in the Black Widows' web, and it was there. With a scream, I ran back to the door, flung it open, and ran through... just to see another Black Widow.
I thought," Oh come on, there is another one." So I did what any other regular human being would do. I ran across the hall to a suit of armor with a sword, and I picked up the sword, dove under the spider with the sword up, and cut through the belly of it, and for once I didn't scream, the spider did. Then I ran the way that I came through and tried prying open the door with a massive burst of confidence. But it did not budge an inch. So I ran to a hallway that I did not see when I came into the house. To my surprise, two spiders were smaller than the other spiders, and I figured out that they were just baby spiders. The best part about that is that they did not chase me back to their parents, but they actually played with me for ten minutes. After an hour of running, I found the exit because it said exit in big, bold, red letters. I ran outside to meet Midnight and get some fresh air. When I got to Midnight, I promised that I would never, ever pass this house on my way to school or on my way back to my house from school.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
