The First Poem 2026

The First Poem

 This was a school assignment about a person, Margot, who remembered the sun from Earth, but all the other kids didn't, as they had lived their entire lives on Venus. So they resorted to cruel things to make sure she couldn't see the sun. Even though it would only happen once every 7000 years. So I hope you enjoy. If you guys want the full story, then comment, and I will add it for more context.

Beneath the drums of unrelenting rain,
A fragile child stood distant from the rest
While others laughed in careless, fleeting gain,
She held the sun remembered in her chest.

They mocked the light that lived behind her eyes,
Denied the warmth she swore she once had known;
In envy’s grip they fashioned cruel disguise
And left her in the dark, afraid and alone.

Then sudden stillness split the falling sky,
And golden light poured down on eager skin
They danced in light they’d waited years to try
Forgetting her they’d locked away within.

Too late they turned, their fleeting joy undone
She missed her hour, imprisoned from the sun.
