The Dragon Slayer 2025

As you all may know, I have been working on a story called "The Dragon Slayer". And I am very proud to say that it is finally complete, and if there are any problems, please feel free to leave a comment addressing them.  Without further ado, here it is.

The Dragon Slayer

In a distant kingdom far away, a little boy's life was about to change forever. Summer was an ordinary boy living his life and going to school. He made friends and had enemies. But all of his friends said that there was always something off with him. Although he seemed normal, he was all the things that you would expect a warrior to be. Intelligent, athletic, tall, strong, and most importantly, a kind heart. There was nobody in the world who could be as kind as he was. When kids would forget their lunch, he would share with them. When kids needed help, he would cross valleys to help them. With such a kind soul, nothing could happen to him, right? Well, that is where you would be wrong. You see, a long time ago, when Summer was just a child, his parents had been in a terrible car accident and had passed away. That left Summer all alone to take care of him and his baby sister, Annabelle. Annabelle was always curious about the world and always wondered what happened to her parents. Like the kind-hearted person he was, he said that they would just be away for a while. Most people would assume that that was not true, but Annabelle had always trusted her brother, and this time it would be no different. So every day, Summer would wake up in the morning to pack lunch for him and Annabelle, and would return home from school to help make dinner, do his homework, and help with Annabelle's. But one day, Summer saw his chance to make a life for both him and his sister. One of his friends at school told him that the government said there was a dragon, and whoever could defeat it would have a happy life with whatever they needed and wanted. So he took the opportunity and went to the government office. The person at the desk said that he was too young because he was. But still Summer lied and showed her a fake ID that was his father's. The person at the desk looked at it and looked at him and said Well, you two look the same, so I will let you through. Go have a seat over there, pointing to a large cluster of sofas.  Hearing someone say that he resembled his father made Summer tear up. Although he was tearing up, he had no time to waste sitting passively. While he was seated, he bided his time thinking about what he could do if he somehow managed to defeat the dragon. He could not go to school. He wouldn't have to wake up in the morning because a private chef would be waiting for him. Suddenly, he saw someone pointing at him, yelling for him to get in here to meet the government official. As he entered the room, a soft voice asked him to sit down. He was so startled by the change of voice that he tried to sit down at the table. But when he finally got settled in, the person sitting in the chair said that he looked too young. He then asked why Summer wasn't in school. Summer quickly replied by saying that he had always been short and that he even had an ID that the front desk approved.

The government official then stated that the dragon was in Greenland and was in an underwater volcano, and that the chances of survival are close to none. He asked if Summer truly wanted to go, and Summer said yes. So he thoroughly explained the plan. Fly Summer out to the dragon with nothing but a single sword, axe, and food. As Summer signed the contract that said that they were not liable for anything that happened to him and that he wanted to go, he started thinking about what the dragon could look like. He imagined a big, giant beast that could rip through humans in a single bite… or it could possibly be adorable and friendly. Summer started packing the next day as his flight left the next day at 6:00 PM. All he packed were clothes because they would provide whatever else he would need. As he said goodbye to his sister for what may be the last time, he entered the taxi, wondering why he did this. Life was already perfect, and what more could he ask for than his sister and his friends? But then he remembered why he was doing it, and he was sure of his decision. As soon as he got on the flight, he felt a sense of relief knowing that he could have a safe life with his sister. Once he arrived, Summer went straight to the hotel to put his stuff down and hopefully get to call his sister for what may be the last time. He couldn't sleep at all and started to watch TV. Once he turned it on, it flashed "Breaking News," and what he saw next was weird. It said that the dragon was just spotted on a hill and had broken free from the underwater volcano. He just thought, "Great, I guess it will be another long flight for me". But then he realized that the dragon was only a couple of hours away from him, and if he left now, he could get there in time. So quickly and swiftly, he called somebody to come pick him up and drop him off at the dragon. But the app said that the only car was 2 hours away. Under his breath, he muttered, "Why does this car need to be 2 hours away? In that time, the dragon might as well take a trip to the Bahamas". When he called the customer service on the phone, the operator said Sorry, there seems to have been a mix-up, and the car is only around 3 minutes away. In his mind, Summer was thinking that that was the worst possible time to have a mix-up. Summer said that the president would pay for the ride and thank you. He ran as fast as he could and decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator because the elevator was on the first floor and he was on the second. It would have been a waste of time to wait for the elevator when it would be faster to just go down the stairs. In a couple of seconds, he went down the stairs and into the main lobby. So as he waited, he could only think about what he was going to do to even make a sword kill a dragon. As he got into the car a couple of minutes later, he said, "Please drive to me, the dragon." The person was confused, as he had not heard about a dragon. So, Summer just told him directions. By the time that he had gotten there, the dragon was peacefully sleeping with not a care in the world. As Summer approached, it started to move a little with the sword. He was startled, but he kept on moving forward. He started to raise his sword over the dragon's head, but he couldn't bring himself to kill the dragon. It was so majestic, and it was lying there peacefully. Although it had destroyed countless villages, he didn't want to end its life. When the dragon woke up and saw Summer standing beside it, it felt startled too. It jumped a little, but then said You are the chosen one. I went on to explain how it had been looking for somebody with a kind heart and a mind of steel that wouldn't try to kill it. As she gracefully flew away, Summer said Wait. Aren't you going to stay? The dragon replied no. I'm going to wait another 100 years to come across a boy or man with a kind heart and a mind of stone. It was going back to its lair where it had awoken from to wait another hundred years. As Summer went to the airport. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about what just happened. Why does the dragon just leave? Why did it leave? Why was it looking for somebody with a kind heart and a stone heart? As he got back, he jumped on him and said How did you get back so soon? I thought you weren't going to come back. He said, "No, I will always come back for you." And life went as usual until he got called in by the government, asking how he had slain the dragon. He explained that it was only looking for someone with a kind heart and a stone heart. He went on to explain that it would be back in another hundred years or so, looking for someone with the same characteristics. As promised, he was allowed to live in a mega mansion with all the butlers that he would want. So he accepted with gratitude but kept living life the same, going to school. But something was different now. He was now known as the dragon slayer.

Morse Code Day 5 2025

Morse Code Day 5

Today, we will be learning the Morse code letters P-T. Starting off, P is one short tap, two long taps, and one last short tap. It is kind of like two small eyes looking at you. Q is two long taps, one short tap, and one long tap. Next, we have R, which is the same thing as P, but with only one long tap in between the two short taps. Next is S, which is 3 short taps. And last but not least is T, which is just one simple long tap. I know that I might not have said this before, but the long taps are around 3 times the length of the short taps. Thanks for reading, and remember to keep practicing and stay tuned for tomorrow, where we will learn the rest of the Morse code alphabet.

Morse Code Day Two 2025

 Morse Code Day Two

Today, we are going to be learning the letters F-J. Going right off the bat, F is 2 short taps and one long tap, and then one more short tap. Next is G, which is two long taps and one short tap. H is 4 short taps. It is two short taps. And last but not least is J, which is one short tap and 3 long taps. Also, when I say long tap, I mean a dash, and by short tap, I mean the dot. If you do not understand, you can go search up the alphabet in Morse code and see what I mean.. Thanks for reading, and remember to tune in tomorrow.

Morse Code Day One 2025

Morse Code Day One

Today, I plan to learn the letters A through E of the Morse code alphabet. So let's start. A is one short tap and one long tap. You can think of it like the uppercase letter, which consists of one short line and one connected long line. B is one long tap and 3 short taps. You can think of it because there is one long line in B, and the 2 curves have one short line connecting them. Then the letter C is an alternating pattern between one long tap and one short tap. If you do this twice, then you get the letter C. And if you didn't understand this, then C is one long tap, one short tap, one long tap, and one last short tap. Now we only have two letters that don't have that much in common with the letter, and you will just have to remember them. So, D is one long tap and 2 short taps, and E is just one short tap. That is all we will learn today. Stay tuned for tomorrow and review the lesson plan on the article I posted yesterday for a head start.

Day one, complete.

Morse Code 2025

-- --- .-. ... . / -.-. --- -.. .

So, yesterday I was thinking, "What am I going to do for the blog. I mean, I already have a giant story, but what can I do?" But then, I got a genius idea. While I was eating dinner, I asked my brother if he wanted to learn more code so we could talk to each other secretly, and he said no. No problem, but what if I learn Morse code and document my journey? So welcome to me learning more code in 30 days. Feel free to follow along and do your own research, but stay tuned, as tomorrow will be the first day. And by the end, I hope that you will be able to read the title.
