The Complex Game Of Chess
Chess is one of the most complex games ever to exist. For those unfamiliar with the game, I will provide an overview of its basics. One of the first things that you will need to know to play chess is the pieces and how they move. So the pieces' names are pawns, rooks, bishops, knights, queens, and the most critical piece of all, the king. Pawns move forward one square at a time, except on their first move, when they can either move one or two squares forward. They can only capture pieces that are diagonally in front of them. Rooks can only move in straight lines. They can move as many squares as they want as long as it is in a straight line in front, behind, or to either side. Now, bishops can move diagonally on the color square that they are on. Knights are the only pieces that can move over other pieces. They can only move in an L shape. They are one of the most valuable pieces in the game. Queens can move in any direction for as many squares as the person wants them to move. Now the king is a complicated piece. A king can move in any direction, but only one square at a time. If a piece is looking straight at the king in its form of travel, your king is in check. When your king is in check, you can not move any other piece until your king is out of check. Two things that you can do if you are checked are to block or take the piece that is checking your king. Then again, you can move your king away from the danger. Also, the game ends when your king has nowhere left to move and no piece can block a check. This is called checkmate. Although this may not be the whole game, it is the basics, and if you want to learn chess fully, you should look it up. But for now, you knew the basics of the game. Good luck and have fun.
